What happens to your data?

Read AI records meeting audio, video, transcripts, and calendar integrations to generate meeting summaries, analytics, and participant engagement scores. This data is stored in encrypted databases, shared with necessary service providers and AI tools, and kept for up to two years unless deleted earlier.

Does it train on your data?

User data may be used to train and improve models depending on account settings. Read AI provides a Customer Experience Program that users can opt into or out of to control whether meeting and connected data are used for feature improvements. Data accessed via Google Workspace APIs is not permitted to train generalized AI/ML models.

Can you opt out?

Yes. In live meetings, attendees can type 'opt out' into the chat to remove the service. Users can also opt out of data-improvement training via account settings and opt out of targeted advertising via cookie controls.

Data retention

Audio and video data, including derived metrics, are retained for a maximum of 2 years. For paid accounts, data is stored until payment stops or the user submits a deletion request.
